House se dice que surge directamente de "The Warehouse" - un club nocturno en Chicago que mantuvo sus puertas abiertas desde el 1977 hasta el 1982. El movimiento musical House fue empezado por DJs Afro-Americanos quienes comenzaron a experimentar con nuevas técnicas tales como remixes, muestreo y un gran uso de instrumentos electrónicos como sintetizadores y secuenciadores.
